CBD Pills VS CBD Capsules

What are some of the CBD products in the market? What is the difference between CBD pills and CBD capsules? Which of the two products is effective? This article explains the differences between CBD pills and CBD capsules.

According to Ali, Scheffer & Sadleir (2019), CBD is a naturally occurring compound obtained from the hemp of the cannabis plant and contains more than 100 cannabidiols. Individuals use it for health benefits, leisure and relaxation, especially when having stress. CBD use was legalized in the United States through The 2018 Farm Bill, ruling that hemp should not contain THC that exceeds 0.3 percent. THC is an abbreviation of Tetrahydrocannabidiol, a psychoactive compound of cannabis that makes one feel ‘high’ after consumption.

Types of CBD.

The main types of CBD are CBD Isolate, full-spectrum CBD, and Broad-spectrum CBD.

CBD Isolate

This type of CBD occurs in its purest form, which does not contain THC. It is found in solid or crystalline form. It does not have any distinct smell or taste. To obtain the pure Isolate, all other compounds are extracted to remove to leave behind only pure CBD. However, one must be diligent when purchasing CBD Isolate to ensure it is pure and does not contain any harmful toxins.

Full-spectrum CBD

Ucci (2021) states that the full-spectrum CBD consists of all naturally occurring cannabidiol in the cannabis plant. Other naturally retained compounds are terpenes, flavonoids, and cannabidiols. The THC contained is below 0.3 percent, making it the best CBD to go for if one wants to feel high. It is also preferred if n individual wants to relax their mind and has problems falling asleep.

Broad-spectrum CBD

The Broad-spectrum CBD entails combining naturally occurring CBD components like terpenes and flavonoids but no THC. As much as it does not contain THC, taking it in excess may cause more effects as the CBD contains compounds that work together. Before purchasing or using, one has to deeply research the brand they want to ensure it does not contain harmful substances.

How To Consume CBD

Berg et al. (2020) explain that there are various ways of consuming CBD like CBD Vaping, which involves the CBD being warmed to produce vapor that is inhaled, and CBD sublingual, which is taken by putting CBD oil beneath the tongue and is absorbed through the mouth membranes into the bloodstream. There are also CBD Vapes that are smoked and come in various flavors, and CBD Topicals are applied and absorbed through the skin. There are also use of CBD pills and capsules. Capsules and pills are used interchangeably though there is some slight difference between the two.

CBD capsules vs. CBD pills

Majimbi et al. (2021) state that CBD Capsules refer to tablets that contain CBD oil, while CBD Pills are tablets that contain raw herbs, leaves, and flowers of cannabis. Some may have medicinal contents along with CBD oil. Two major types of CBD Capsules are hard-shelled capsules that have a hard shell and contain pellets or are in powder form, and soft gel capsules that have soft shells and carry CBD oil like hemp seed or coconut oil. The hard-shelled capsules are rough in texture, while the soft gel capsules are smooth in texture. Capsules' effects take longer because they must be digested first and later absorbed into the bloodstream. CBD Capsules offer an easy and discreet way of taking CBD as no one will notice you carrying them around and taking them. Simplicity also helps in maintaining a constant dosage of CBD.

Bioavailability

CBD Capsules and pills have a lower bioavailability than other forms of consumption because when they are ingested, they have to be digested and then later absorbed into the bloodstream. It means that it will take one a long time to feel the effects of the capsule. Capsules and CBD pills have an absorption rate of about 13-20 percent and about 1-2 hours of half-life. Half-life refers to the time taken for a substance or drug to be reduced by 50 percent or half. Capsules should thus contain a higher concentration of CBD to make up for the lost quantity during digestion. Since the pills contain raw cannabis, their half-life is longer than for capsules as the raw dried leaves have a high concentration of cannabis.

Benefits of taking CBD

There are known benefits of taking CBD Capsules, just like CBD Pills, which are both health benefits and relaxation. Gordon (2020) states that CBD Is known for helping with anxiety, arthritis, obesity, depression, insomnia, and body pains. CBD is popularly used and is well known by many people who embrace it day by day.

Conclusion.

The use of CBD Capsules and CBD Pills is one of the most known ways of consuming CBD, among many other ways. Capsules and Pills work relatively similarly, though their contents are different. Capsules contain CBD oil, while Pills contain raw dried leaves and flowers of cannabis, which means it is more concentrated compared to capsules. What you like and prefer in matters CBD may be different from what someone else likes. Individuals have to choose what works best for them. Is it Capsules or Pills? If one wants to try CBD for the first time, research the web, ask long-term users about the brand they want, or even consult with their doctor. If an individual wants to try it for the first time, start slow and add the amount gradually until one reaches a level that an individual can comfortably accommodate into their own body.
