CBD oil doesn’t require any subscription. Although CBD products were legalized in the USA during the 2018 Farm Bill, there is no clinical research verifying their health benefit. However, some research suggests that it could relieve pain, stress, and depression.
CBD oil products are manufactured from hemp or cannabis plant. Various elements of the hemp plant are extracted to manufacture the three different types of CBD oil. The elements include; terpenes, flavonoids, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and cannabidiol (CBD). The elements' presence is used to distinguish between full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and isolate CBD oil. Hindocha et al. (2015) suggested that the impact of CBD oil varies from person to person depending on several factors. Some people are likely to feel the effects more rapidly than others. Also, some have the impact of CBD oil staying longer in their systems than others. This results in questions about whether CBD oil requires a prescription or not.
After realizing that CBD or hemp and cannabis plants have various health and wellness benefits, they were legalized under a Farm Bill in 2018. According to the 2018 Farm Bill, all CBD products should have their THC levels below 0.3%. THC is the second most dominant element in the cannabis and hemp plant. According to Solowij et al. (2019), its presence in the plant is why CBD products took time to be legalized in various countries since it has intoxicating effects. Some of the common side effects of CBD include getting "high," poor memory, anxiety, and severe headaches.
Although various research attempts to show CBD oil's health benefits, the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) has not approved them except for epilepsy. Therefore, there is no specific prescription for CBD oil. However, some manufacturers recommend specific concentrations to users but with disclaimers. This calls for personal responsibility to ensure you don’t overdose.
Most companies recommend that novices begin with low concentrations as they keep adjusting gradually, depending on their bodies’ reactions. Most companies recommend beginners to start with at most 10 mg of CBD per ml. This minimizes the side effects of a new element being exposed to the body. Also, beginners can talk to doctors before taking CBD oil to study their body chemistry and find effective concentration.
On the contrary, veterans can take significant amounts depending on their use. Taking CBD oil for a long period makes the body adapt to it. With time, the body stops reacting to the potency levels, forcing users to adjust the concentration to a higher potency for effectiveness. However, veterans should adjust the dose gradually.
CBD oil effectiveness varies because of various factors. Therefore, users should be keen on the following to avoid the side effects of an overdose.
CBD oil is manufactured using various elements to improve its effectiveness and quality. Most companies have researchers responsible for selecting the right elements to be blended into their CBD oil. One of the most used elements is MCT oil, also called coconut oil. According to Izgelov et al. (2020), MCT oil is an organic element containing bioavailability features that improve the absorption rate of CBD products. As a result, they offer rapid effectiveness to CBD products. Users should be cautious and ensure only organic elements are incorporated in CBD oil. Artificial elements create a platform for chronic, life-threatening diseases such as cancer.
CBD oil is manufactured in a wide potency range addressing the needs of veterans and novices. Some oils have a low potency of 5 mg of CBD oil per ml to over 100 mg per ml. Therefore, the concentration you consider impacts the kick-off time for side effects and effectiveness. Highly concentrated CBD oil results in more rapid effects than low concentrations. To enhance the appropriate dosage of CBD oil, most manufacturers offer marked droppers in each serving. The droppers should help users administer considerable amounts. According to Schoedel et al. (2018), the most common side effects of taking too much CBD oil include severe headaches, poor memory, and anxiety.
There are various ways of taking CBD oil. Some of them include orally, sublingually, or adding to your favorite foods or beverages. Although adding to foods or Vcaps helps users evade the natural taste of hemp, effectiveness takes time to kick off. Sublingual use is highly recommended to veterans wishing to have rapid effectiveness. This method involves putting a few CBD oil drops under your tongue and holding them for about 60 seconds before swallowing. This allows the oil to be absorbed rapidly into the blood streaming offering rapid effectiveness.
There are several factors to consider before buying your CBD oil. First, confirm potency levels. There has been an ill-trend of manufacturers labeling different potency levels from the ones in the products. In most cases, the concentration posted is lower than the one in the products. This results in CBD oil users overdosing unknowingly. Although the FDA allows potency variance, it shouldn't exceed 10%. Therefore, users should be cautious. Also, users should be keen on the manufacturing process. Consider CBD oil manufactured using organic hemp plants from Colorado, Kentucky, or Oregon, the best hemp producers. Also, go for CBD oil manufactured with the C02 method of extraction since it is effective and clean.
Currently, there is no specific prescription for CBD oil. However, users should be cautious about the amount consumed to avoid overdose. Some of the common side effects of overdose include poor memory, anxiety, and severe headaches. The time taken for users to experience CBD oil’s effectiveness depends on experience, quality of the oil, body chemistry, and method of administering. Users have to get quality products to enjoy the effectiveness of CBD oil. Factors to consider while looking for quality CBD oil include the quality of hemp, the extraction method, and the chemicals used during manufacturing. It is important to ensure the hemp plant is of high quality.
