DOES HEMP OIL THICKEN HAIR?

Thick hair is a sign of healthy and stronger hair. With hemp hair products filling the market, you might probably wonder whether hemp oil will thicken and make your hair stronger.

Dry hair, hair loss, dandruff, and hair breakage are some common hair problems many people face. Hair loss and breakage are mostly caused by thin hair since thin hair makes up for weak hair that is susceptible to strand loss and breakage. Excessive hair loss is not normal and may have something to do with the hormonal, genetic, or stress-related background; in the course, to find a solution to combat hair loss and breakage, people may go for different products and treatments options. In severe cases, people may even go for hair transplants. There are numerous benefits related to Hemp oil, and one is the thickening of the hair. But does hemp oil thicken hair?

What is CBD

Cannabidiol, commonly known as CBD, is the second most prevailing active ingredient in cannabis or Marijuana. CBD is an important component of medical Marijuana; CBD is directly obtained from the hemp plant or scientifically manufactured in a laboratory. CBD is safe and federally approved because it doesn't make people 'high'. This is because CBD does not contain tetrahydrocannabinol, the main psychoactive compound in cannabis responsible for inducing high sensation. Also, CBD displays no effects suggestive of any abuse or dependency. Furthermore, there is no evidence of any health-related problems associated with CBD use.

Types of CBD

Common terms are used to describe different types of CBD: full-spectrum CBD, broad-spectrum CBD, and CBD isolate. The CBD types are determined by the method of extraction and cannabinoid content.

CBD isolate

CBD isolate refers to the purest form of CBD; it doesn’t contain any other cannabinoids or compounds of the hemp plant. This is made possible since all the plant compounds are exhaustively removed through an immense extraction process that only leaves behind CBD. The extraction process will determine the level of purity of the CBD isolates. High-quality isolates are often 99% pure. The purity level is advantageous as this type of CBD can maintain its potency even when added to other compounds such as lotions. CBD is the best choice if you are looking for a flavorless product or trying to avoid THC altogether. The only downside is that you don’t get to benefit from the potential entourage effect.

Full-spectrum CBD Oil

As the name suggests, this type of CBD is oil-rich in Cannabidiol together with little amounts of THC, flavonoids, and terpenes. A few opt for full-spectrum CBD oil based on the entourage effect theory, which states that taking CBD alongside THC and other cannabis compounds might be more fruitful than taking Cannabidiol alone. Several full-spectrum CBD Tincture contain a variety of terpenes and flavonoids, which display their different valuable results. If you prefer less refined products, go for those containing full-spectrum CBD. Moreover, you can find a variety of flavored full-spectrum CBD Tincture.

Broad-spectrum CBD Oil

The broad-spectrum acts as the intermediary type of CBD between full-spectrum CBD and CBD isolate. This type of CBD contains primarily Cannabidiol and little amounts of other cannabis compounds that don't include THC. However, some products may contain some THC traces. Like with full-spectrum, broad-spectrum may also induce amplified results since they contain additional components that work hand in hand. This is a good option for people who want to profit from the entourage effect of CBD without necessarily using THC.

Hemp Oil Thickens and Makes Hair Stronger

Hemp seed oil displays strengthening qualities. This is made possible as hemp oil acts by creating a defensive barrier against all the factors that may bring about hair breakage and hair loss. Consistent use of hemp seed oil enhances the hair density and the diameter of each strand, making hair thicker and stronger. From the root of each strand to the tip, hemp oil works to make the hair denser and thicker.

Gaikwad et al.  (2020) showed that the natural lipids found in hemp oil fortify hair strands, enhancing hair strength, density, and health. Weak strands of hair display porous characteristics. Kiezel (2017) discovered that Hemp oil saturates the hair and fills in those weak points with nutrients such as linoleic and lipid-rich fatty acids that aid in making the hair stronger and healthy.

This consequential progress and breakthrough make the hair capable of withstanding any harsh conditions, even weather-related. According to Baral et al.  (2020), hemp oil displays moisturizing properties, which prevent the scalp from drying up, leading to hair breakage and loss. Dias (2015) noted that dryness is one factor that leads to hair weakening. Moisture is an important factor in strengthening the hair. Hemp oil comes in handy to prevent water loss and retain moisture in the hair.

Which Is the Best Type of CBD Oil?

Different brands in the market are responsible for manufacturing different types of CBD. The formulation of each CBD oil is different with each bottle. In this case, you cannot seclude a single product from a particular brand and name it the best CBD oil overall. Also, people have preferences, and what suits one person will not necessarily suit the other.  Many factors will come into play in terms of the best CBD oil. For instance, people who would like to benefit from the entourage effect are more likely to go for full-spectrum CBD oil. These people benefit from the numerous cannabidiols and compounds of hemp that work together to produce long-lasting effects and don’t mind the THC present. Those who want to benefit from the several cannabidiols and compounds of hemp while avoiding THC often go for broad-spectrum CBD oil. On the other hand, some would like to benefit from Cannabidiol only, and CBD isolate suits them right as it also doesn’t contain THC.

Conclusion

Hemp oil will make the hair thicker, but this is not a one-day thing. It will require constant use of hemp oil to achieve denser hair from the root to the tip. Hemp oil also makes up for stronger hair capable of withstanding any harsh conditions that may bring about hair loss or breakage. Try different brands and types of hemp oil in different quantities to compare the results of each on the hair.
