Hemp oil (hemp seed oil) is prepared from the seeds of the hemp plants. It makes a great culinary tool, and many cooking oils feature hemp oil in their ingredient list. It is nutty enough to better your favorite dishes. Still, hemp oils have other uses, mostly industrial, other than the culinary roles. Besides, you can make hemp oil soap at home and control the ingredients in the final product. Herein shared are three simple recipes you want to try at home to make hemp oil soap.
What is Hemp Oil Soap?
According to Pless & Leson (2001), it is like any other soap, only that it features hemp oil as a key ingredient. What is hemp oil, and is it the same as CBD oil? It comes from hemp plants, specifically in the seeds of the plant. CBD oil also comes from hemp plants but is extracted from numerous parts of the plants, including leaves, flowers, and stems. CBD oil has a lot of CBD, but hemp oil has barely any CND since it is extracted from the seeds and not from hemp plant parts with CBD. Hemp oil soap features hemp seed oil as one of its key ingredients, hence the name.
Why Hemp Oil Soap?
Understand a product well before spending money on it. Hemp oil seems to have many benefits, some health-related. For instance, Leizer et al. (2000) reported that hemp seed oil has powerful anti-inflammatory properties, suggesting good for inflammation. Elsewhere, Orlando et al. (2021) established that hemp oil might lower one's risks of skin problems, hence why many people use hemp oil soaps to manage acne and other skin problems. With these benefits in mind, you may want to prepare hemp oil soap using the recipes below.

This ingredient list results in a more enhanced hemp oil soap. The final product is green in color and features a sweet smell that you will definitely like. It takes the following ingredients;
8 tablespoons of cocoa butter
4 tablespoons of castor oil
2 cups of coconut oil
2 cups of hemp oil
2 cups of olive oil
2 cups of palm oil
8 tablespoons of hemp butter added in trace amounts to super fat
8 tablespoons of shea butter
12 tablespoons of patchouli essential oil
4 cups of water
5 cups of lye (potassium hydroxide) or caustic soda (sodium hydroxide)
5 cups of palm kernel
The three-ingredient lists are not compulsory requirements for hemp oil soap. Rather, you choose one ingredient list to work with at a time. With either list, follow the procedure below to make hemp oil soap;
Measure the oils and water by weight and place them in the pot.
Put the dry oils in a container to melt.
Add them to the other oils with the hard oils fully melted, leaving out the fragrance and essential oils.
Blend the mixture and liquefy it at 100 degrees Celsius.
Switch off the heat and pour the mixture into the lye-water pot, stirring consistently.
The reaction produces viscose and cloudy particles, indicating that saponification has started.
At this point, blend it in short bursts, approximately 5 seconds each, while stirring and scraping the sides between the bursts.
When the mixture is about to cool, add fragrance and essential oils and decorations like petals, seeds, and glitters.
Pour the mixture into molds to set again, and let it rest in the mold for at least 3 days.
Remove the fully formed hemp oil soap from the mold and let it cure for 3- 4 weeks, after which it should be ready for use.
