Loxa Beauty teamed up with LA stylist Afshin Ammadi to create an on-trend half-up boho braid tutorial featuring Joico Texture Boost Dry Spray Wax.
Joico Texture Boost Dry Spray Wax is an ultra-dry finishing spray wax ideal for carefree, tousled styles. It delivers movable, effortless texture to your hair with incredible, long-lasting, shine.
This spray wax creates a tacky texture that's perfect for keeping styles - like braids - in place. Grab your Texture Boost, and let's get styling!
1. Start by liberally spraying Joico Texture Boost Dry Spray Wax through your strands, focusing on mid-shaft to ends.
2. Take a small section of hair at the crown of your head. Gently backcomb the section with a fine-toothed comb to give your hair more volume.
3. Repeat step 2 on a few layers under the first section you backcombed for additional volume, then spray a small amount of Texture Boost on the backcombed sections for light hold.
5. Gently comb back your hair to make the backcombed sections look more natural.
6. Using your comb, section out a piece of hair from your part to your left ear, then braid it to the end. Tie it off with a small band or clear elastic.
7. Repeat step 6 on the right side of your head.
8. On the rest of your hair, use a medium-barrel curling iron to create some loose waves or curls. Taking a 2" or 3" section of hair at a time, wrap the section around the barrel of the iron, then hold for 5-10 seconds. Remember: Boho looks are messy-chic, so don't worry about making perfect curls here.
9. Pull the top half of your wavy hair back into a loose ponytail, then tie it off with a clear elastic.
10. Bring both braids back toward the back of your hair, then pin them under the pony to hide the ends.
11. Spray all over with Texture Boost for additional hold.
Texture Boost adds braidable texture with a light hold, great for braids, waves and other styles.
